FAQ
Where do I go on the day of my appointment?
I am an artist at Aftur & Aftur, a cozy and inclusive tattoo studio located at Garðastræti 2, in downtown Reykjavík, Iceland.
How much does a tattoo cost?
My start price is 25.000isk.
A non-refundable 10000isk deposit may be required to secure your appointment, which goes towards the total cost of your tattoo.
The final cost of your tattoo will depend on the size, complexity of the design, and how long it takes us to complete the tattoo.
After submitting your design details through the booking system, I am happy to give you an estimated price range so you know what to expect. You pay for your tattoo after its completion at the end of your appointment.
You can pay for your tattoo with transfer from an Icelandic bank account, paypal, cash, or credit card.
How do I care for a new tattoo?
See my aftercare page for everything you need to know. If you still have questions, contact me here or send an email to allie@doe.ink.
What kinds of tattoos to you do?
I specialize in custom designs that focus on clean line work with minimal or no shading.
Do you do walk-ins?
You might get lucky with a walk in, but it is best to book beforehand. With that being said, if you are interested in getting a tattoo on the same day/day after, feel free to get in touch using the submission form or send me an email at allie@doe.ink, and I may be able to squeeze you in.
Getting tattooed with someone else?
Each person getting tattooed must book a time for themselves. For example, if you and a friend would like to come on the same day to get a tattoo together, two different slots must be booked, one for each person. However, it is fine if only one person sends in a submission.
I’m traveling from abroad and want to get a tattoo. What do I need to do?
You can submit your idea using the submission form. If you are planning to use swimming pools, lagoons, hot springs or saunas during your trip, keep in mind that you can´t submerge a fresh tattoo in water. The tattoo needs at least two weeks to fully heal, so it is best to book any travel tattoos after all of your wet activities are finished.
How long in advance do I need to book a tattoo?
Availability can be unpredictable depending on the time of year. As a rule of thumb, it is best to book earlier rather than later.
Do you do flash days?
Yes! Flash days are a great opportunity to get a tattoo without having to book beforehand. All information about flash days will be shared on the studio’s instagram (@afturogaftur).
What if I need to cancel/reschedule?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please send me an email at least 48 hours before your appointment. If not, I will keep your deposit to help make up for lost funds/time. You will need to pay a second 10000isk deposit to secure another appointment, but all deposits go towards the final cost of the tattoo. For example, if you pay a 10000isk deposit and the final cost of your tattoo is 40000isk, then you will pay 30000isk after the completion of your tattoo.
I have a question before booking my appointment. What do I do?
I’m happy to chat! You can contact me through the submission form or send me an email at allie@doe.ink.
What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?
Be sure to arrive in the best shape you can. Get a good night’s sleep, shower/apply deodorant if needed, and eat a solid meal beforehand. It is a good idea to bring water and a snack, especially if you have a longer session. Wear something that is appropriate for the tattoo you are getting. For example, if you want a tattoo above your knee, either wear shorts or bring some to change into. Often, it helps to be in clothes that are comfortable and easy to move around in. I don´t mind chatting while doing your tattoo, but if you prefer to listen to music, watch netflix, etc. you can bring whatever you need to entertain yourself.
